We had a couple of nice days en route, but those were bookended by three days of poor weather at the start, and two days through a gale warning in the Gulf of Alaska at the end. Overall, the boat performed remarkably well throughout. That’s impressive mileage for a plane.
We burned 7x the fuel but likely weigh something closer to 10x. But, the plane would be doing 22x the speed. There have been trips were we certainly could use 160 kts :-).

By the way, it might be interesting to compare the logistical numbers for a similar hypothetical trip in a little plane like ours. 1100 nm is just at the limits of endurance of C-GXRP, using 140 gallons over seven hours at 160 knots. Nowhere near in comfort & peacefulness of course, nor the water landing capability.

Glad to see you made it up to my neck of the woods! I will be boating out of Valdez this coming weekend and hope to see you again and say hello. If I don’t have the opportunity to visit, again glad to know you both made it up this far, you are in for some spectacular scenery and cruising!
