Spitalfields Market started in 1638, was covered in the late 19th century and modernized in 2006. The market is full of small vendors selling wares ranging from jewelery to fresh vegetables with many food stalls and restaurants. We made a pass through the market and surrounding area as part of a trip to pick up some electrical supplies.

I love Spitalfields market and environs. I went to school for a year just down the road from there at Queen Mary Westfield college…it was great to experience the East End in the early 90s. Its remarkable how crazy developed it has become now.
It’s an incredible area to call home for a couple of months. Were looking forward to visiting St. Katherines Dock again in the future.
