In February of 2016, we completed our longest passage ever: 3,700nm across the South Atlantic from St. Helena to Barbados. And in May of this year, we completed our worst passage ever: 2,800nm across the North Atlantic through three gales from Newport, RI to Kinsale, Ireland. In between, we’ve cruised the West Atlantic between Florida and Newfoundland and now are cruising the East Atlantic along the west coast of Ireland.
When we arrived into Barbados, Doug Harlow from Nordhavn flew in to interview us about the trip and describe how we ended up purchasing Dirona and cruising the world. The interview from Barbados, along with an update from Ireland, is posted below.
Also while in Barbados, Doug filmed a video tour of Dirona as we explain various aspects of the systems ranging from the galley to the crane to the engine room and our automation systems.
And finally, we participated in a group interview with Jennifer and Mark Ullman on Nordhavn 46 Starlet and Robbie and Jo Ashton on Nordhavn 47 Southern Star. The two boats had crossed the Atlantic together from the Cape Verde Islands and had arrived into Barbados shortly before we did.
