I love all forms of engineering so it’s a pleasure to have just been elected to the National Academy of Engineering. Founded in 1964, the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) is a private, independent, nonprofit institution that provides engineering leadership in service to the nation.
The NAE advances the welfare and prosperity of the nation by providing independent, objective advice to the U.S. government whenever called upon to do so, and by promoting a vibrant engineering profession and public appreciation of engineering. The NAE is part of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, an independent, nonprofit organization chartered by Congress to provide objective analysis and advice to the nation on matters of science, technology, and health.
Congratulations James! It is an honor, and they have made an excellent choice!
Thanks and all the best Kim.
James congrats and well Deserved
Thanks for the congratulations Bill. Always good to hear from you.
Congratulations James. This is a well deserved honor and I know you will make great contributions to NAE!
Thanks Stewart!
Congrats! You’re underselling it. It’s a huge honor. I had two colleagues from my grad school days in the 80’s that were also admitted this year.
Btw – when are you getting back to boating?
Thanks Evan. On “back to boating” question, I continue to enjoy my time at work so, whatever we do, it’ll have to fit with that. If there is a way to jam more in, we’ll do it!
